I really liked your argument. I'd appreciate if you could evaluate my analysis.

In this argument the author based on some survey data and funding reasons recommends to the college governing comittee to retain the institution as an all female institution. The argument presented above has various flaws and lacks support to justify the conclusion of retaining the college as an all-female college.

Firstly in this recommendation, the president provides support to his claim by presenting the results of surveys from students by the student government and from the alumni of the college. About the student survey the author fails to provide any details about the students that were surveyed. In order to determine the importance of this survey in such a decision it is very important that the students belong to both sex. Also the number of students surveyed is not mentioned. It is possible that the survey was responded to by a very low no. of students, in which case it cannot serve as a reliable source. The second survey from an all female alumni is very likely to be a unilateral view, because all the participants would perhaps possess a similar view with regards to the issue. It is very important to consider male opinion on this issue.

Secondly, it is mentioned that the faculty opinion is in favour of coed. The faculty being more experienced in the field of education would be in a better position to judge the importance of coed in the future of the students of college. They are more likely to understand the problems that the students could face, when in future they would have to join a work environment which would not be all-female. In such cases the female students would face tough challenges.

Thirdly the author mentions that if all female education continues, the female alumni will continue to support the institution financially. However, it is also possible that the all female nature of the institution is already warding off a lot of likely financial help. It is possible that if the institution starts supporting co ed it may recieve more funding from organizations. The very perception created by the idea of an all female college may be isolating various forms of help from external sources.

On the whole, insufficient details of some survey data, female dominance in the other data, and various other flaws keep this argument from convincing me why such a tradition should be allowed to continued in a modern time where male and female teamwork is common and ubiquitous.

Hehehehe! I so wanted to vote for the cookies. But my conscience won't let me because I know what it is that I ought to vote for, but by gut reaction is to go straight for the cookies...and my gut carries a lot of weight when it comes to making those kinds of decisions...so I didn't vote at all which totally stresses me out because I really like polls and I really want to support you by participating in your polls. Now I'm going to have to go back and read your blog again because I've completely forgotten what it was about...jk!! Love you, son!
