gulping down life [-juice]? how about deep-throating a president?

A friend recently emailed me this quote he came across while doing research on Anti-Gay Protestant Fundamentalist Rhetoric. “Keep in mind,” he said, “that the article was written for the Family Research Council, and is intended to be scholarly discourse on natural law.” “…when a man puts the part of himself that represents life into the cavity of another man that represents decay and expulsion, there is just no way to make the act mean something different from ‘Life, be swallowed up in death.’”  ¶  Stunning. I, of course, had to visit the FRC website where I saw that in September 2007, the Family Research Council also opposed the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, saying it was “specifically directed to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees…[and] creates an unnecessary protected class…”  ¶  Historically speaking, slavery has existed in the whole of recorded human history. Prior to the late 1860s in the United States, abolitionist movements were probably also seen in the same light the FRC sees the ENDA – resulting in the creation of an “unnecessary protected class” – a.k.a. African-Americans.  ¶  So on the eve of likely electing the nation’s first black President, my knee-jerk reaction is to point out all that the religious-right is painfully and obviously oblivious to when making statements like the two just quoted. I’ll choose to, instead, visually paint a picture for you that you may have already seen coming in these past two sentences: Just as slavery has led to freedom has led to segregation has led to equality (almost) has led to, potentially, a black President; it is my hope and assumption that non-heterosexual identities will lead to awareness will lead to understanding will lead to acceptance will lead to equality (at least, almost) will lead to, potentially, a gay President – who will likely have a spouse (marital right’s having been finally granted in the understanding phase), who will, on occasion, deep-throat the President of The United States of America.  ¶  How’s that for “Life, be swallowed up?”
